Yes, having a real wood-burning fireplace in the living room is great... something I insisted on when we built this house years ago; I got spoiled in our first side-by-side which had a fireplace. When we built this house, the bricklayer was so nice, he built us a stone fireplace right up to the ceiling (he was supposed to go just to the mantle). I love it.

But I would rather use it when I WANT to, not when I HAVE to... ;)

That sucks!!! But, I love me a fire and a blanket...

Well the guy finally got here at 6 pm.... yup, here I was waiting all day, (how did you guess Worker Mommy?) so I snuggled up in a robe over my clothes by the fireplace, stoking it like a pioneer woman every 1/2 hour or so. Good thing we have a huge wood pile in the garage, all nice a dry (well, it WAS huge before today).

At least it is fixed up now. And no Kathy, no huge bill; we just paid a small fee to give it a good cleaning as one of the tubes was blocked. Probably due to us having three cats and a dog.

It sure feels good to be warm again :) especially since it also snowed today. (So jealous of your weather, Kathy!)

Only a year old? You better not have to pay one red cent for the repair. Hope you're warm and cozy soon (if you aren't already).

p.s. I guess it wouldn't help to tell you I live in the northeast and we enjoyed a 70 degree day today, right? I expect snow around now, but I'll take balmy any day!

As much as a cold house sucks you gotta love a nice fire. Git a warm blanket and snuggle w/hubs and your pets!

And don't you just hate the "windows" of time they give you for repair technicians to come out. It's always a 4 hour window that they give us and of course the person never shows up until 5 minute before that 4th hour....annoying!
