Out With The Old...

... in with the new.

Well, I did it. I found my new baby... just waiting for me all by itself in the corner of the Mitsubishi lot.  My 4WD V6 2010 Silver Outlander. Without going into full-on commercial mode, let's just say it's jam-packed with all sorts of goodies, including air, power everything, sunroof, upgraded 9 speaker sound system (gad there is a 10" subwoofer in the back!), Sirius, Bluetooth, motion sensors, keyless entry and start, 7" screen GPS Navigation with a 40 GB hard drive with music server, heated seats and mirrors, Command Start and enough cup holders to satisfy a Starbucks-aholic... NINE cup holders for a vehicle that seats 5.

How did they know?

Being a crossover, it drives like a luxury car. But with oodles of cargo space, I can't wait for our next trip to Minneapolis and the Mall of America.

Oh yeah. It came with one of THESE too:

No Longer On Speaking Terms

* Sigh *

I've had to make a very important decision. Important and difficult. So difficult to do.

But for the sake of my sanity, I must.

I must refrain from further terms of endearment. Stop the one-sided conversations I find myself conducting with greater frequency as the years wore on. I have to cut off all forms of communication to make the process less painful.

For I am no longer on speaking terms with my 1997 Dodge Caravan as I have begun the dreaded experience of shopping for a new car.

But I just can't bear the thought of giving up my old one. No matter how shiny and cool a new vehicle will be, I will still miss my old blue van dearly. Like a trusted friend, we have shared nearly ten years of experiences; from long road trips to the daily grind of rush hour.

But my faithful steed is on his last legs and I am unsure he will last another bitter winter.

Saying goodbye sucks. Until then, I am saying nothing at all.

 And don't even TRY to deny you talk to inanimate objects too...

Yeah, I should be doing laundry, yardwork, cleaning the house or planning meals. But frankly, I'D RATHER BE BLOGGING... about things like this.
