Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Whilst touring Underwater Adventures at the Mall of America last week, Daughter and I noticed the strangest thing; no, not that freaky see-through fish. (I mean it... there was a fish there that when it opened it's mouth and gills, you could see right through it! *Shudder*)

It was something else. Someone was dropping colourful Easter Eggs into all the tanks.

Easter eggs
It must have just happened, as we had been there earlier the same day and nothing was amiss at that time.

Easter eggs
I just dare someone to go hunting for THESE ones in the Red Bellied Piranha tank:

And then we caught a fleeting glimpse of the culprit. Yep, fuzzy pink fur, long ears, scuba tank... SCUBA TANK??? in amongst the Great White Sharks:

Easter Bunny and the sharks
Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hopping down the shark-infested trail,
Hippity hoppity hemorrhaging all the way...

Wow that's too funny!

Excellent!!! It must've been funny watching the eggs sink to the bottom while you were looking at the tanks!

First I am so amazed that the Mall of America has an aquarium, how cool is that? They really do have everything. And I wonder if they decorate for each holiday. If you had been here a month before would there have been shamrocks and leprechans for the sharks to snack on?

Daisy: More adventurous and braver! Especially when he'll have to wash that pink coat...

Mom Taxi Julie: It was quite a shock! I just wish I could have gotten a better photo, but he moved way too fast.... er, like a bunny, I guess (or in an attempt to evade the sharks).

JoJo: It was wierd to see all the eggs, that's for sure. They must color them with a special paint.

Babs: It was unexpected! But quite funny to see all that pink "fur" under water!

Vegas Princess: We have been there a few times, and I insist part of the trip HAS to be the aquarium (since I have five of my own). It simply facsinates me. I think Shamrocks would have been hilarious!

The Mall of America sounds like an Amusement Park. Are you sure you just go there to shop or are there any other such surprises? Only in America, right?

Maureen:

See through fish? Now you've gone and done it - no more alcohol for you.

Happy Easter.

DJ: Yeah, it was quite the sight alright! Too bad there weren't many children there at the time (most were back in school as this was during the day). Then again, perhaps the image of The Easter Bunny in with sharks isn't such a great memory for a young one.

The Gossamer Woman: Oh, yes, the Mall of America IS an amusement park alright. In fact there is a Nick Park with rides and such in the center of the mall. Roller coasters, ferris wheel; al kinds of rides for kids! And of course, "amusement" is a great term to use for shopping at the 500+ stores too ;)

Swubird: Ha! No really! It wasn't the kind of fish that was clear... it literally looked like a skeleton when it floated above your head (you go thru underwater tunnels) and when it opened it's gills, you could see straight through! Freaky!

As I am prone to tell my kids, "Now that's something you don't see everyday!"

Ed: That's for sure! I never knew bunnies could swim... and use SCUBA gear.
