Any Day Can Be Caturday!

Yes, I love cats. I have three after all. I am an Unapologetic Cat Person.

This UCP loves Daisy and Harley at Daisy the Curly Cat.

This UCP loves I Can Has Cheeseburger and the LOLs it never fails to provide.

This UCP loves Cute Overload and their uber-cute kittens!

This UCP loves Simon's Cat and his hilarious cartoons.

This UCP loves Catster where each of my cats are listed.

This UCP loves the Animal Rescue Site that does such wonderful things for cats too.

And this UCP loves all my bloggy friends who have / had cats, past and present:

Like Lily and Tinsel at Of Cats and Cardstock, Mabel at Lady Banana's, Sukie, Livvie and Mitzi at Babs-Beetle's Simply Cats, Prudence and Gus* at JD's I Do Things Blog, Pickle, Bailey, Sandy, Aspen and Sally at Toni's Moved to the Mountains blog, Nerissa and Portia at Life! Vegas Style, Lucky, Shadow and Stinky at The Junk Drawer Blog, Toby, Nouri and Gandhi at The Green Stone Woman, Fidget at Spacial Peepol, Fluffy at PG's Annoyingly Boring? blog, Macka and Snijeg at Be.Bartlog, Reforming Geek's er... "Cat" the cat, Mamie and Ike at Dorky Dad, Moses, Bear and Emmy over at Drowsey Monkey's site, Sugar at Jill's Twipply Skwood blog, and Seamus at Unfinished Rambler. *

What this UCP doesn't love is someone telling me I CAN'T visit my friends, I CAN'T watch cat videos, or do anything CAT-RELATED today.

Aw Hell No. If I want to I damn well will.

If you don't want to, that's perfectly fine. That's what is great about the Internet. Everyone has choices and there are plenty of other things out there if you don't want to read about cats.

But this UCP does. And I will NOT have someone telling me I can't.

So Epic Fail Urlesque! (no I am NOT linking you)

For foolishly attempting to establish "A Day Without Cats on the Internet" today, you can:

Kiss Our Furry Butts

* Gah! Sorry I missed you Gus! If I've missed YOUR feline, I apologise; please add your cat-link in the comments so I have even MORE feline-filled destinations to enjoy!

Hey! Where's my mention??

I used to have cats! I did! I'm allergic to them now, or we'd probably still have cats! Snagglepuss was my first, a beautiful sleek black half-siamese beauty. Pooka was the last - a demon in cat's clothing. She was beautiful and white - or she would have been if she'd bothered to wash, as it was she used to pee in the coal scuttle and come out black and white.

Love the cat butts! LOL!

A day without cats on the Internet is a very bad idea. Since you are a cat lover, you just have to visit our blog! http://karen.pnn.com/5124-cat-corner-meow

We write lots of good posts and have pictures and videos too!

Heather said...

I'm a total cat person too. I need to post more about my furry babies on my blog!

PG said...

Fluffy is on my shit list today so I am glad you gave him a shout out so he's at least got that going for him.

Irene said...

Officially I'm allergic to cats, but I'm allergic to dogs too and I also have one of them, so the cats don't matter. I like the cats for coziness, but I'm more fond of the dog, but don't tell my cats that. They are okay for the most part. Little shadows that traipse around the apartment and lay on top of me when I take a nap.

Hooray! We shall prevail! Thanks so much for the shout out for me and Harley and all of catkind!

Do you feel the same way about people who keep spiders as pets?

Ed & Jeanne said...

I'm going to keep people as pets. I know some that are far lazier than any cat I've seen.

JD at I Do Things said...

Good for you! This is outrageous. A day without cats? Such a thing does not exist.

Thank you so much for the shout-out! Pru feels very special.

I do love Cheezburger, but I'm a dog person. Kittehs are cute but goggies are my fave pet.

Oooh goody, lots more cat sites to go wate time at. I look at Lollcats everyday!

Maureen said...

Oh Julia, thank you! I shall definitely check it out!

Jay: I checked your site and searched; I couldn't find a mention of a cat! My apologies; but you KNOW I love dogs too ;)

Spunky Doodle & Manny: Welcome! And thank you! I will definitely come by!

Heather: Yes, Heather, there is nothing like a good cat story / photo /video... ;)

Aw, PG poor Fluffy! Well, hope he is off your list by now.

The Green Stone Woman: Oh cats and dogs are so different; I have both too, but I lean towards preferring cats; especially when I have to let the dog out in the middle of winter!

Hooray Indeed Daisy! You and Harly are most welcome; you are two of my most favorite furry friends of all.

Ahahaha Jeff! No, not quite. ;)

VE: Har! Oh yeah, me too. But I don't think I'd want them for pets; I'd have to clean up after them, feed them... holy crap, I have TWO already come to think of it!

Ah JD you and Pru are most welcome. And you are right; it was a ridiculous thing to even attempt. It sure backfired on them!

Jo-Jo: Goggies ARE cute too; I have one! But today I had to stand up for freedom of speech and felines!

DJ: It IS a good way for a daily chuckle, isn't it?

ReformingGeek said...

A day without cats? Um, no. That's just wrong!

I love your photos and thanks for mentioning Cat, the crazy dirtball, projectile-puking furry beastoid.

Maureen said...

Reforming Geek: Oh you're very welcome. "Cat" sounds, er... well, um.... 'unique' ;)

MAureen:

Cats, cats, cats. When I was growing up we never had cats. We were dog people. I always loved dogs. But now I've been living in this small townhouse for the last thirty years, so we don't have room for a dog. So we got a little kitten for our youngest daughter. At first, the poor thing had several health issues. So we took her to the vet and had her completely overhauled. That was seventeen years ago. The daughter is long gone, but that little cat is still here to keep me company, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy trails.

Haha! It's OK, I was only kidding. I haven't mentioned cats, because they're not part of our lives anymore and it was so long ago that I have only a few blurry snapshots from a film camera.

I did love my cats though. And I am sad that I can't keep them anymore. Turned out that both of my sons are allergic too! :(

Babs-beetle said...

No cats? No CATS!!!! If I'd known about this I would have posted about my cats on my Beetle blog ;)

Who is this person that you wouldn't link to?

I KNEW I should've done a blog about cats! Piggies, to the dumpster with you! :P

Maureen said...

Oh Swu, you did it again... led me into a great story with a surprise ending. I never would have guessed you were a cat lover. I like you even more now (if that's possible) ;)

Jay: You are a true animal lover at heart; I am not surprised at all that you had a cat. It is too bad you and yours are allergic, but I am sure you have your hands full with Sid ;)

Babs-Beetle: It wasn't a who, exactly, but a website that thought if there could be a No Megan Fox Day, there should be a No Cats Day. The fools... it was destined to fail.

No, don't dump the Piggies Tony! I love them too! And I am glad I found you again... I was worried when your old blog was gone!

MikeWJ at Too Many Mornings said...

I'm going to be totally honest here. Although I respect your love of cats, every time I see a cat, I think, "Wow, potential oven mitt!"

Chris said...

So what I'm getting out of this here is, "you like cats".

I myself have never seen the attraction, but to each his or her own.

And I made it through this entire comment resisting the urge to make some sort of cat-related pun.

It wasn't easy. In fact, I'm feline kinda weird about it.

See what I did there?

Bart said...

I never realized having cats is a requirement to get on your blog list.

You only love me for my cats, don't you.

I realize that now.

Louise said...

Well said. I'm so tired of people tell other people ANYTHING with "should" in the sentence. I love the furry butts! I'm a UCP,too, but I don't think my cats have ever made it to the blog.

Jill said...

Awwww! My Sugar is famous now! :-) :-) :-) I was all, "I LOVE Lily & Tinsel!!!!!!" as I was reading. And then I realized Shuguee is famous too!

OH WAIT! I just remembered I locked that darn cat in an upstairs closet because he was refusing to come out when I wanted to go downstairs...

Anyway, I can't imagine why someone would want a day without internet cats or any other cats, but VERY funny on the furry cat butt and I can't wait to go let Sugar out of the upstairs closet & tell him he's famous on your blog! :-) :-) :-)

MYM said...

well, thanks for the shout out about my girls :)

And a day without cats? What?

A day without cats is like a day without sunshine, and kitty litter, and furballs .. I mean, it's just not natural.

Julia said...

BTW I found your blog through Vegas Princess.

Janet said...

Awww, thanks for the link, Maureen! Your furbabies are bee-u-tee-ful! We need to see them much more frequently. I agree, the idea of a cat-free day on the interwebs is CRAZY!

Maureen said...

MikeW: So then everytime you see an oven mitt, do you say "Wow! A Cat!"???

Har Chris! I get it. You are very punny!

Be.Bart: Oh not a requirement at all... many of those on my list have DOGS too ;)

You are right, Lady Banana, and you're welcome! I love little Mabel!

Ah Louise, I do hope they make an appearance; I would love to see them!

Jill: Ahahahah! Poor Sugar! But yes, they are all famous in their own rights. It is surprising how many fellow bloggers are cat owners.

Not natural at all Drowsey! And how could I miss yours? I mean I was even mentioned in the same post as them and everything!

Well thank you Julia! Welcome! I have also visited your blog (luuurve the banana bread) and always enjoy reading about the goings on on the other side of the world ;) So glad we met thru VP's blog!

Janet: Oh I KNEW you'd be against such folly; I mean no Tinsel and Lily?? The Horror! ;)

Cupcake Blonde said...

Wow! I am so touched you remembered my girls! I will tell them their blog Aunt Maureen pimped them out on her blog. :) And I think they are friends with your kitties on Catster if I remember right.

And I can not go a day without some kitties on the Internets. It is a staple. (Just saw Simon's new video and LOVED it! So like my girls)

Did you read my post about attempting to intergrate a third kitty? Did not go well but the kitten made me think of your newest addition. :)

Maureen said...

Yes, I did, VP, so sorry it didn't work out for you...what a beautiful kitten she was!!!! Good thing I don't live in Vegas; I would have scooped her up from ya. ;)
