Beam Me Up Scotty
Me: How about we go see Star Trek on Sunday?
Hubster: Sure!
Me: Yep. On SUNDAY.
Hubster: Okay...
Me: Because it's a Special Day.
Hubster:
Me: You don't know what's on Sunday, do you?
Hubster: Er.... Star Trek?
Me:
Hubster:
Me: SUUUUUNDAY. A "Special Day".
Hubster: *Click* Oh! (Face contorts into that Holy Crap! expression)
Me:
Hubster: I nearly forgot!
Me: I know. (Yeah... NEARLY forgot....) Happy 29th Anniversary to you too there honey.

Ahahahahahaha!!! OMG that was hilarious and perfect, Be.Bart! Live long and prosper; cause hubby may not...
Guys are more visually oriented. Men don't do well with dates or figures, it is in the genes, it isn't his fault.
On another note, we both did Star Trek related posts today......check mine out!
Bruce: After 29 years, I definitely know that men in general can't remember a date to save their lives. I even have to remind him about his own family's birthdays. Once he is given the hint, he'll plan something special; he just needs that reminder.
And great minds think alike, eh? Loved your post!
Maureen:
What a great surprise. Hubster took you to see Star Trek on your special day. And you thought he forgot.
Happy trails.
awwww. Happy Anniversary!! Sunday is ours, too and Matt would be so thrilled if I wanted to see Star Trek. I'm making him take me to dinner. ;) Have fun!!!
Happy anniversary! Enjoy Star Trek. I saw it last weekend and liked it, even though I've never seen a single other movie or TV show. If you're coming into it already a fan, it's probably a lot better.
Ahahaha! How well I know that 'Oh crap' expression! LOL!
Congratulations! Twenty-nine years is good going!
I wanna see Star Trek, too, by the way. It's on next week on IMAX in London, and I'm trying to persuade OH it would be a good idea.
Love be.bart's comment!
Swubird: He hasn't taken me yet... so he's not out of the woods for far ;)
Ann(ie): Cool! June 7th for you too? There is a girl at work who also shares the same day... I guess it was a popular choice. Happy Anniversary to you too!
Shawn: Aw thank you! Yes, we have seen them all; I grew up with the TV show. A true Geek I am.
Jay: Ooooh... seeing on IMAX would be awesome! We have IMAX here too, but I don't think it's playing there yet. And yes, Be.Bart killed me with that one.
be.bart's comment is most excellent.
And Star Trek is also most excellent. You will enjoy it immensely - and happy anniversary Maureen!
You might want to start the visual reminder hints in January next year so he has lots of time to book that special anniversay trip to beyond Star Trek.
In the meantime, Happy Anniversay and enjoy the movie - I've still to see it, but this Sunday it is Up! for me. In 3D.
Thank you Pinklea! I can hardly wait to see it... going first thing Sunday (first show) is always a good time to go. We've gone to a few movies then.
Violet Sky: Ha! I think you are right (gets out my diary and flips to 2010...) Oh UP looks great; we saw the trailer before the Wolverine movie a few weeks back. Have a great time too!
Ha ha! Typical!
Happy anniversary for Sunday, and enjoy Star Trek (as if you wouldn't) :O)
Babs: Thank you so much... I am looking forward to it!
29 Years of being each other's friends and confidants? Or is it the old ball and chain? I've been married 19 years and 15 years and never did marry the right man. I think there is no such thing for me. I'm bound to be a single woman.
Congratulations, Maureen. I wish you all the happiness in the world.
You're so kind to give him a pointed hint! :-) Happy Anniversary to you guys!
The Gossamer Woman; Thank you. Definitely not a ball and chain, at least for me. I'm not asking hubster that ;) No, really I can't believe it's been that long, so I guess if the time has flied by, it must be a good sign, no?
Janet: Yes, I told him I knew him all too well (I should after all this time) and he's lucky I'm so understanding. :) Thank you so much!
At least you'll be seeing a great movie and probably get lots of "I'm sorry I'm an idiot" presents! :)
HA! At least he finally did remember, even with a lot of prompting. In my house, it's me who forgets. I just have no head for dates, even my anniversary. There's always a noticeable pause whenever someone asks me my wedding date. Uh . . . May . . . 12?
I'm not married, but I think that when I am someday, I'll be prepared. I'll have a go-to list of stuff about the relationship that I do recall that I can refer to, to keep her from getting too pissed off.
What? 29? I think that must be a typo. What, did you get married when you were 10?
Anyway, congratulations to both of you. Hope you enjoyed your date!
Oh ouch..gotta love those forgotten anniversaries. Then again they usually make up for it with awesome gifts and the guilt factor is good for at least another year.
Vegas Princess: It WAS a great movie! We had a great time; and as for presents - we are going to get something together that we need. Now we just have to figure out what exactly that is.
JD: Well, at least our homes have ONE person who will remember... I can't imagine what the heck would happen if you and my hubby had met... ;)
The Stabbing Pen: After 29 years, I don't get pissed off anymore. I have, sadly, just come to expect it. You can't change a person; don't even try. Just laugh at each others foibles.
Aw, Jeff, thank you. Aren't you sweet! I was 19 when we got married, so everyone can now to the math... ;)
Nipsy: I don't have to wait a year. Come falltime, I'll have to remind him of my birthday too.
It was obviously a divergence in the space-time continuem that caused this anniversal rift. He should practice one of Dr. McCoy's famous lines "Damnit Maureen...I'm just a man..." There...that should do it...
As to the movie...I'm still wondering if Spock can claim Spock as a dependent...
VE: Har! Spot on McCoy! He was a great fit in the new movie; actually, I think all the casting was very well done. As for Spock, I doubt he has to pay taxes... it's simply too illogical.
Say whatever you want but I'm with Jeff, you couldn't have been any older than 10 when you got married.
Happy Anniversary.
